Product Q's
The Ends are precision-tooled from solid brass ingots and are then electroplated with gold or silver.
The materials for the charms vary based on style and design, but they are all made from safe, lead-free metals and stone based on USA and California requirements.
Each End weighs 0.4 oz. (11 grams). So a set of two weighs double that, or 0.8 oz. (22 grams). The charms vary in size and weight.
All of the charms on our site will (of course) work with The Ends, and so will the vast majority of any charms you already own. The only ones that won’t are charms where the connector (that is the loop at the top of your charm that connects it to either a chain or The Ends) is too small or too large to fit onto the loop on The Ends. In that case, any jeweler or repair shop should be able to swap the connector out for one that works for The Ends however. So really any charm can be made to work.
Some brands of sweats have unfinished/raw string ends which are difficult to slide into The Ends. An easy hack to make these loose ends work is to take a piece of scotch tape and tightly wind it around the frayed end of your drawstring, creating a tight bundle, like that on the end of a shoelace. Then simply slide it into The Ends. If, on the other hand, your drawstrings have an enclosed end, but one that is too large to fit into The Ends, you have two options: 1) cut off the aglet (that’s the name for the hard piece at the end of a drawstring) and use the scotch tape method described above, or 2) remove the drawstring and save it for later use, and replace it with the spare drawstring that came in the package with The Ends, using the threading tool which we also supplied you with.
They are small and easy to drop, it is true. That's why every order includes a small ziplock bag with two extra screws. Please be sure to keep them in a safe place so you can find and use them in the event of a lost screw.
How It Works
The Ends use a two-piece screw-on system. The base piece threads onto your drawstring, and then you hook a charm onto the built-in loop. A small screw locks the top in place so nothing falls off. To swap charms, just unscrew the top, switch your charm, and screw it back on. The whole process takes about 30 seconds.
Yes. There are no rules about matching metals. Plenty of customers wear a gold End on one drawstring and a silver End on the other, or mix gold and silver charms on the same piece. It comes down to what looks good to you.
The Ends fit most standard drawstrings on hoodies, sweatpants, joggers, and even sneaker laces. If your drawstring is between 3mm and 7mm in diameter, it should slide right in. Brands like Nike, Champion, Adidas, and most streetwear labels work without any modification. If your drawstring tips are frayed, wrap them with a small piece of tape first.
They are one of the easiest jewelry gifts to buy because there is no sizing to worry about. Pick charms based on the person's interests (zodiac sign, initials, hobbies) and pair them with a set of The Ends. We also sell curated gift sets that come ready to give. Since charms start at $11, you can put together a thoughtful, personalized gift without spending a lot.
No. The screw-on mechanism is the whole point of The Ends. Unlike clip-on or slide-on accessories, the screw keeps everything locked in place during normal wear. We have had customers wear them while running, working out, and going about their day with no issues. The only way a charm comes off is if you unscrew it yourself.
Each End holds one charm at a time. Since most hoodies have two drawstrings, you can wear two charms at once (one on each side). The fun is in rotating them. Most customers keep a collection of 5-10 charms and switch them depending on their mood or outfit.
Traditional jewelry (necklaces, bracelets, rings) goes on your body. Drawstring charms go on your clothes. That means no sizing, no clasps, no worrying about skin reactions. You put them on your hoodie once and they stay there until you decide to change them. They also cost less per look since you can swap one $11 charm instead of buying an entirely new piece.
Drawstring charms are small decorative jewelry pieces designed to attach to the drawstrings of hoodies, sweatpants, and sneakers. The Ends pioneered the screw-on drawstring charm, which uses a brass base piece and interchangeable charms in gold or silver finish. They turn something you already wear every day into a way to express your style.
